Andrea Ball | Computer Lab
My Email: andrea.ball@washk12.org- This is my second school year at Majestic Fields Elementary School, and I absolutely love working here!
- Growing up I had always wished to be a teacher, while I am not a teacher yet… This opportunity has shown me even more of a reason to become one!
- My favorite part of being the computer lab teacher is having the chance to get to know each and every one of the students and giving them a place to fully be themselves.
- I enjoy teaching life long skills in fun ways! There is never a dull moment in the computer lab!

Joyce Carlson | Meet the Masters Art class Facilitator
My Email: joyce.carlson@washk12.org- I’ve been with Majestic Fields since 2018.
- One of my favorite things about teaching art is I have the opportunity to work with the whole school, get to know every child, and watch them grow individually and artistically.
- In class we learn about the life and inspiration of artists, practice their techniques, and students create a masterpiece of their own. Throughout the year I aim to make each artist memorable with fun activities that immerse us in their culture. We use a variety of mediums in class to build confidence and skills.
- A little about myself, I love to travel and aim to explore all 50 states (only missing 15). I recently spent time in France and Italy, both renowned in the art world. This helps me have first hand experience when teaching about artists.

Kiley McDonald | Computer Paraprofessional
My Email: Kiley.McDonald@washk12.org
Maygen Mortenson | Media Center
My Email: maygen.mortenson@washk12.org- I have been employed with Washington County School District for the last 10 years. I had an amazing opportunity to work with older students at Fossil Ridge Elementary for 8 years as an aide in the library. Then I came to Majestic Fields Elementary as the librarian and I absolutely love it here.
- My favorite thing is to read to students and see how excited they get and how happy it makes them. I love to help all students find their love of reading!
- My favorite thing to teach is the Dewey decimal system and how to find books. My goal for all students is that by the time they go to the intermediate school they will know how to confidently and properly find and access books.
- Reading is the cornerstone for all learning, and I'm so excited to be apart of this!

Melanie Palmer | Reading Interventionist
My Email: melanie.palmer@washk2.orgMy name is Melanie Palmer and I love my job working with students and teachers as the reading interventionist! I graduated from Utah Tech University with a degree in Elementary Education. I couldn't get enough of reading so I went on to earn a reading endorsement from Utah Valley University, then a Master of Arts Degree in Reading with an emphasis in elementary education from Grand Canyon University. Along with teaching students, I have the opportunity to teach teachers throughout our district in Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling, or LETRS. I have taught nearly every grade in elementary and have worked in various roles throughout the school and district. I feel blessed to call Majestic Fields Elementary home and enjoy working with the best administration, teachers, students, and parents. When I am not teaching you will find me going to the mountains for fishing, camping, and spending time with family.
